We collect the minimum data needed to run the site and send the newsletter.

What we collect

  • Your email address, if you sign up for the newsletter or request the seller checklist.
  • The record you asked to watch or asked about, if you sign up on a compound page or through a watch form on a question page.
  • Your name, email address and message, if you write to us through the contact form or ask a question.
  • Aggregate, cookieless analytics: which pages are viewed, what is searched on the site, which sign-up form was used, and where a visit came from (the site or social network that linked to us, and the tags on our own links). These events carry no name or email address.
  • If you sign up, where your visit came from (for example “Instagram” or “Google”) is stored with your email address, so we know which of our posts bring readers. Your browser keeps this note for 30 days in its local storage; it is not a cookie and holds no personal data.

Seller checklist progress is saved only in your own browser's local storage. It is never sent to us, and the checklist's Reset button clears it. Your choice of dark or light mode is kept the same way and is never sent to us.

Who processes it

Newsletter emails are sent through beehiiv. Site analytics run on Plausible and Metricool, which set no cookies, and on our hosting platform's built-in analytics. Contact messages are stored in the site's own database. So is the record you signed up from, which is not passed to beehiiv. Where your visit came from is passed to beehiiv with your address, so its reports can show which posts bring readers.

How we use it

We use your email address to send the newsletter you asked for and to reply to messages. We do not sell or rent your data, and we show no third-party advertising.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time with the link at the bottom of every email. To have your data deleted, send a request through the contact form.
